Snell Farm Children's Center (an Affiliate of Hillside Family of Agencies) has an opening for a Full Time School Principal in Bath, NY. The School Principal is responsible for providing leadership in a therapeutic education setting, including oversight of the day to day operations of the assigned campus school. This position is responsible for successfully meeting all targeted established goals and objectives; e.g., increasing student attendance, improving and documenting students’ academic performance, working collaboratively with academic and clinical staff members and creating an overall effective learning organization.
The right fit for this position will have direct management of assigned school personnel; oversight and direct management of all instructional matters, compliance issues, the school budget, integration of behavioral support and discipline. This position will have supervision and evaluation of all teachers, school-based managers and other staff as assigned to the campus school.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Responsible for assuring that the school attains and maintains all regulatory requirements, including required filings, records maintenance and funders' standards. Must be technologically savvy and ensure all student data is maintained and current.
• Assures all instruction and curricula are presented to students utilizing sound pedagogical practices, facilitating the highest possible education and vocational outcomes for students, with regulatory guidance.
• Evaluates and provides ongoing feedback to teachers and other school staff aimed at assuring high quality education and instruction.
• Serves as instructional coach, recommending programmatic methods and guidance. Aware of and appropriately accesses internal and community resources in support of school needs.
• Has ultimate responsibility for behavioral standards at the school and addresses behavior shortfalls as outlined by SED and additional agency funders.
• Is the CSE Chair for students. Purposefully builds meaningful relationships with families and residential units in order to facilitate school success for students.
• Oversees all administrative aspects of the school, including scheduling, student/practice teacher programs, building use and maintenance, counseling and guidance and availability of required in-service and training opportunities for staff.
